Autumn has arrived

The clocks have gone back, the leaves are turning brown, and there is a sudden chill in the air. All this of course, means we are into the autumn.

The colder weather has effects on the human body. We can be more susceptible to colds and flu's, we are less likely to go outside as we do in the summer months, and it is vitally important to ensure we complete a thorough warm up if partaking exercise.

Muscles tend to tighten up in colder conditions so not only is it important to warm up thoroughly, it is also good practice to have a massage on a regular basis to maintain good pliability to the muscle tissue and reduce the risk of tearing muscle tissue so injury does not prevent you from participating in the exercise you love.

Regardless of your sport or activity, staying flexible is one of the most important aspects of physical activity. Reducing even minor aches and pains in muscle tissue can have large impact on how you perceive your potential capability at any given moment, the better you feel, the better you believe the outcome will be.

So take time to consider all aspects of your fitness journey. Whether the advice you receive comes from a coach, a personal trainer or a massage therapist like myself, we have all joined this industry to help make a positive difference into your personal fitness and wellbeing.

Enjoy Autumn
